We bring every project to life through thoughtful communication, a distinctive identity and the right emotional connection to make its message truly matter.
Founded in 2003, Mandarina Project is a non-profit organization driven by a strong connection to people, places and local identity. For more than two decades, we have transformed ideas into meaningful projects that bring communities together, celebrate culture, protect the environment and reveal the tourism potential of Albania.
Through creativity, communication and collaboration, we help territories tell their stories and create opportunities for the people who call them home.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create projects that inspire positive change and strengthen the connection between communities and their territories. We promote local culture, tourism and sustainable development while giving young people, artisans and local communities the opportunity to participate, grow and make their voices heard.
We believe that every place has a story worth sharing and that thoughtful communication can turn local values into lasting opportunities.
Completed Projects
Jazz Festival
The Jazz Festival brought music, creativity and public life together through an experience designed to enrich Shkodra’s cultural calendar. The project created a space where audiences could connect through live performance while discovering another side of the city’s artistic identity.
By supporting jazz and cultural expression, Mandarina Project contributed to a more vibrant local atmosphere and strengthened Shkodra’s image as a destination shaped by art. The festival demonstrated how music can animate a city, create memorable encounters and bring residents and visitors together through a shared cultural experience.
Beach Volleyball Promotion
For more than 15 years, Mandarina Project organised and promoted beach volleyball activities in cooperation with the Albanian Volleyball Federation, municipalities, relevant ministries and private supporters. The events connected sport with tourism, bringing energy and visibility to Albania’s coastal destinations.
Through national and international competitions, the initiative created opportunities for athletes while presenting Albania’s beaches to audiences beyond the country. Each event became more than a sporting competition. It also served as an invitation to experience the destination, helping Albania take part in the wider regional and European beach volleyball scene.
Electoral Participation Campaigns
Over several election cycles, Mandarina Project developed national campaigns that encouraged citizens to participate freely and confidently in Albania’s democratic processes. Implemented with partners including the Central Election Commission, OSCE, the Council of Europe and the Italian Embassy, the campaigns addressed important issues such as family voting, youth participation and gender equality.
Mandarina Project created television and radio spots, posters, leaflets, outdoor materials and social media content designed to reach audiences across the country. Each campaign made civic participation more accessible while reminding voters that every individual voice and personal choice matters.

Stop Building at the Expense of Nature
“Stop Building at the Expense of Nature” used film to deliver a clear message about the environmental cost of uncontrolled development. The project encouraged audiences to consider what may be permanently lost when construction moves forward without respect for nature and the character of a territory.
The production received recognition within Albanian cinematography and represented its environmental message internationally in Cannes. By combining creative storytelling with environmental advocacy, the project gave nature a stronger public voice and showed how film can bring urgent social issues to wider audiences.
Heritage Promotion of the Vlora Region
Developed in cooperation with GIZ Albania, this project invited audiences to discover the rural villages of the Vlora region through their landscapes, traditions and authentic local character. The campaign focused on places such as Vranisht and Kallarat, presenting experiences often overlooked by conventional tourism promotion.
A series of visually engaging cards combined photography with destination information, transforming everyday views and local details into invitations to explore. By giving these villages a distinctive visual presence, the project helped promote rural tourism while encouraging visitors to travel beyond familiar routes and connect more closely with the territory.
Don’t Shoot, but Love
“Don’t Shoot, but Love” was a nationwide awareness campaign addressing firearm misuse in Albania. Developed in cooperation with UNDP, SEESAC and the Ministry of Defence, the campaign replaced the language of violence with a simple and human message centred on care and responsibility.
Mandarina Project developed and implemented the full communication campaign, including video and radio spots, print materials, PR content and public activations. Innovative formats, including three-dimensional posters, helped attract attention and bring the message into public spaces across the country. The campaign encouraged people to reflect on the consequences of firearm misuse and promoted a safer social environment.
Drini–Mati River Deltas
The Drini and Mati river deltas are environmentally sensitive territories where the effects of climate change directly influence nature and local communities. From November 2010 to February 2012, Mandarina Project worked with UNDP and the Lezhë Regional Council on a project focused on adaptation and environmental awareness.
Mandarina Project developed the project’s communication strategy and action plan, translating complex climate issues into clear and engaging public messages. The campaign materials helped explain the challenges facing the area and encouraged greater awareness of the need for adaptation. Communication became a practical tool for connecting environmental action with the people whose lives and livelihoods depend on the territory.

Albania the Beautiful
Albania the Beautiful was a card design competition created to celebrate the country through photography. It invited participants to capture the places, moments and details that best represented Albania’s beauty, creating a visual portrait shaped by different perspectives from across the country.
The selected photographs became part of a card collection that brought Albania’s landscapes, culture and identity into a format that could travel and be shared. By combining public participation with tourism promotion, the project allowed people to become storytellers for their own country and helped reveal Albania through the eyes of those who know, explore and appreciate it.

Shkodra Territorial Promotion
Shkodra is shaped by its landscapes, traditions and unmistakable cultural character. This project was created to bring those qualities closer to visitors through a visual communication campaign that presented the city and its surrounding territory as a destination worth discovering.
Through carefully developed promotional materials, Mandarina Project highlighted the experiences that give Shkodra its identity. The campaign connected tourism promotion with local heritage, helping audiences see the territory through its stories, traditions and everyday beauty. Its purpose was to strengthen Shkodra’s image while encouraging a deeper and more meaningful connection between visitors and the destination.
E Du Bunën
The Buna River is one of Shkodra’s most valuable natural treasures, known for its rich biodiversity, beautiful landscapes and the communities that live along its banks. E Du Bunën was developed as a communication brand and educational project introducing new and more responsible ways of experiencing the river through ecotourism.
Through visual storytelling and experiences along the Buna, the project invited people to explore the destination while understanding the importance of protecting it. It transformed affection for the river into a wider message of environmental awareness, responsibility and belonging, encouraging visitors to enjoy its natural beauty with greater care.

Shkodra Tourist Official Brand & Shop
Shkodra Tourist Official Brand & Shop was created to give the city a recognisable tourism identity rooted in its culture and traditions. Supported by the Municipality of Shkodra through the EU-funded ReLOaD programme, implemented by UNDP, the project brought together tourism promotion, local craftsmanship and contemporary design.
Mandarina Project developed the official tourism brand, helped local artisans improve the presentation of their souvenirs and created a dedicated shop in the heart of Shkodra. Here, visitors could discover locally made products and take home an authentic expression of the city. The project strengthened the visibility of local creativity while creating new opportunities for artisans, women and young people.

These guys are awesome! Each time I needed their help, their response was quick and very helpful. Also, the theme is very flexible. Five stars from me for everything! I truly recommend this theme!!!
The theme is fine. It is customizable and its demos are great. The education plugin also works fine. But, although I like it so much, I want to point out a few shortcomings. Theme is appropriate, I agree.
